Kristin Lee Specht (aka Kristi Lee) is the founder and director of the Kristi Lee Sound Collective whose mission it is to provide music that heals.
A native Californian, Lee was born in 1956 and raised in Northern California. She spent four years in the Panama Canal Zone when her father took a position as an orthopedic resident. In this venue, she literally played in the jungle every day and was exposed to many of the indigenous tribes (San Blas, Darien and Choco) within the interior of the country. Kristin also gained exposure and great interest in Latin music and tribal rhythms, since both parents were active adventurers and musicians.
Lee's educational background includes a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix, 2004, and a Bachelor of Sciences in Zoology from the University of California at Davis, with a minor in Psychology (1980) and an Associate of Arts in General Music from Sacramento City College (1998), graduating with honors.
She has been published in the American Journal of Medicine (V.65 pp.146-154) as a co-author of a medical research project at the University of California at Davis Medical Center. Lee later ran her own holistic health practice for over 18 years. She empowered others in their self-healing practices by leading workshops and outreach programs in spiritual practices, including meditation.
An accomplished Certified Massage Therapist, Kristi developed her own unique approach to healing by combining her extensive background in medicine, the healing arts and her ministry of church ensembles utilizing music as ritual.
Throughout her many years of healing, Lee came to the realization that healing is a self-actuated, individual occurrence that may be prompted and induced by external stimuli. Her educational background and spiritual awareness helped her to comprehend and examine the thought processes, both conscious and sub-conscious, which are influenced and moved by subtle and ambient sounds.
This clarity provided the inspiration and mechanisms for her to create, arrange and produce her recently released recording entitled "Symphony of the Seasons."
