Alex Cohen and Ramon Montagner
Book Release Clinic
Date: 4/6/2023
Time: 6:00 PM EDT
Where: 28 Broadway, NYC or the Live Stream
The Collective School of Music and SoundCollective are excited to announce Alex Cohen & Ramon Montagner’s FREE Book Release Clinic on April 6th at 6:00 pm! Join us in person at 28 Broadway or via the event live stream! Alex Cohen and Ramon Montagner will demonstrate concepts from their book Extreme Polyrhythm, Coordination and Speed Techniques coming out on March 29th. Cohen and Montagner both contribute their unique advanced coordination, technically challenging, and rhythmically complex concepts to this highly anticipated drumming book published by Hudson Music.
Alex Cohen is a regular at The Collective, teaching private lessons, filming videos for the subscription platform, leading workshops, and conducting practice pad circles with the Murderhands trio. He’s written lessons published in Sick Drummer, Drumhead Magazine, and his first book, Ultimate Progressive Drumming.
Ramon Montagner is traveling to NYC for the clinic from his home in Brazil. In addition to being one of the most technically proficient drummers of this generation, he’s a published author and solo artist. He’s toured the world doing workshops on his book Rhythmic Imagination – Coordination Studies for Brazilian Rhythms and released a solo album Boyya. Cohen and Motagner were featured together on the cover of Drumhead Magazine’s issue on drummers’ Raising the Bar’ in 2021.
At the event, Montagner will demonstrate push-pull, dual grip, and independence systems with techniques. Expanding on the ideas Cohen addressed in his latest Collective Masters Live, he will discuss double bass, ostinato soloing, and improvisation with advanced systems. This event is FREE for all drummers to attend, thanks to our sponsors, Hudson Music, Paiste, Tama, ProMark, Evans, and Los Cabos. If you are unable to participate in the clinic in person, you can join via the live stream. Make sure to RSVP to reserve your seat and get the link to the live stream.
